About this role

The Program Manager for Applied and Light Commercial HVAC New Product Development is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the execution of global and North American HVAC product development programs. Based in Charlotte, NC, this is a cross-functional, high-impact individual contributor position with significant responsibilities in planning, risk management, and communication across a broad array of stakeholders. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and strong leadership skills to deliver successful product innovations.

This position requires 20% - 35% travel across North America, China, and Europe, ensuring the alignment of key global teams and stakeholders to achieve program objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership & Vision: Define the vision and strategic direction for large-scale HVAC product development programs. Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve program goals, ensuring alignment with business objectives and global priorities.
  • Program Execution & Risk Management: Drive program execution from concept through delivery, managing resources, budgets, and timelines. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring programs stay on track.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Influence: Engage regularly with key business and technical leaders at all levels of the organization. Provide transparent updates, champion program goals, and ensure consistent, effective communication across departments.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Demonstrate a results-driven approach by taking full ownership of the program’s success. Hold teams accountable for achieving deliverables and meeting milestones while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic Planning & Organization: Develop and implement detailed operational plans, ensuring alignment of resources and activities across teams. Adjust plans to meet evolving priorities and optimize outcomes.
  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Lead teams through complex challenges, leveraging creative problem-solving techniques to develop innovative solutions. Utilize systems thinking to understand relationships between factors affecting program success.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration across engineering, operations, marketing, and sales to ensure alignment of product strategy, development priorities, and customer requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering or Business with a minimum of 6 years of project/program management experience

or

  • MA/MS degree in Engineering or Business with a minimum of 4 years of project/program management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Program/Project Management: Lead cross-functional teams, drive collaboration, influence key stakeholders to achieve program objectives, and/or deliver results within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to handle complex and undefined problems, employing a systematic approach to identify root causes and implement innovative solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and program updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Business & Ethics Acumen: Demonstrate high standards of ethics, with a focus on integrity and sound decision-making in all business practices.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced understanding of HVAC systems, large-scale, multi-functional product development processes and programs in HVAC, engineering, or manufacturing, and the technologies driving innovation in the industry.
  • Global Perspective: Experience working with international teams and managing global programs across multiple geographies.
  • Decisiveness & Adaptability: Ability to act quickly and decisively in high-pressure situations, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Results-Oriented: A relentless drive for achieving and exceeding business targets, ensuring programs contribute to the overall success of the business.

Pay Range:

$109,456 - $191,938 Annually
