About the role:
As we are expanding our team in the Systems and Control Center of Excellence, based in the Gdansk R&D Center, we are seeking an experienced, talented, highly motivated, and results-driven team leader.
The candidate will lead the Model Based Development (MBD) team in Carrier’s Gdansk global design center. This team will provide global support for HVACR divisions. MBD technology and methods focus areas will include system modeling, optimization of Digital Tools for HVACR products and new data analytics approaches. The candidate will provide leadership for the existing Gdansk MBD team and will be charged to grow the MBD talent in Gdansk. The candidate will engage with engineering sites globally for the development and transition of new technologies into the product development process.

Key Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will lead a team applying system modeling, optimization and controls approaches to support technology and new product development for Carrier HVACR business units. She / he will be a key member of the core corporate Center of Excellence team who will work closely with our business units, manufacturing support and quality organizations.
This candidate will also help define technology roadmaps, lead a portfolio of projects that directly tie into passport gated program launches and de-risk technology through the TRL process.
Experience / Qualifications:
- Strong technical, communication and organization skills and the ability to drive technology advancement and execution.
- Experience developing, applying and deploying MBD technologies and methods.
- Experience with using Matlab/Simulink for Model Based Design and verification methods such as Model-in-Loop and Hardware-in-Loop.
- Experience with Control System Design is a plus.
- Experienced in applying optimization and analytics into product development programs is a plus.
- Experience in estimating development timelines and costs.
- Experience with developing multi-year technical roadmaps with links to business strategy. Development of IP strategies.
- Ability to work and prioritize multiple projects at the same time.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel.
- Familiarity with HVAC and Refrigeration Products business a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in directly leading a team.
Education:
- B.S. in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering with 8-10+ years of experience or
- M.S. in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering with 6-8+ years of experience or
- Ph.D in Electrical/Computer/Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering with 4-6+ years of experience
