About the role

Leads large team of experienced Accounting professionals or team leaders, overseeing general accounting processes such as inter-company cash, cash management, government accounting, financial reporting, project accounting, and / or balance sheet management. Develops and maintains accounting principles and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads multiple RTR teams, overseeing activities, processes, and large projects for a large organization.

• Manage and oversee regional RTR activities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

• Ensures accurate and timely financial results, monthly closing and compliance activities for RTR processes

• Implements and monitors policies, procedures, and controls to ensure correct financial reporting

• Direct and reviews management and corporate reporting to ensure information integrity

• Guides the team through accounting and business issues

• Develops standards and makes strategic decisions based on accounting concepts, experience, analytical skills, and industry knowledge

• Manages senior stakeholders across upstream, downstream, and the organization.

• Manage and report on control activities including support of internal and external audit activities 

• Own and deliver on regional RTR projects to streamline and standardize activity and deliver best practices 

• Ability to communicate and influence key internal and external business partners

• Owns the transformation of the accounting and controls processes for Carrier regional RTR activities

Requirements

• Proven experience leading multiple Record-to-Report (RTR) or Controllership teams, including overseeing activities, processes, and large-scale projects within a sizable organization
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, finance or related field.
• A minimum 18 years prior relevant experience including a minimum of 3 years in leading large, organized teams.
• An advanced degree is preferred in an accounting discipline, MBA Finance, or Certified Public Accountant/Charted Accountant or equivalent certification preferred
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
