About the Role
Learn and assist with the design, documentation, and/or programming of building automation systems (BASs) in compliance with project plans and specifications. Proactive communication with project team both internal and external including requests for information (RFIs) and technical risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of complete building automation systems including the specification and sizing of controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware.
- Documentation of the BAS design (i.e. submittals) and revision control of the resultant documents.
- Assist with the site-specific configuration of the WebCTRL system (using SiteBuilder).
- Assist with the programming of control algorithms.
- Assist with the development of graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems (using Eikon and ViewBuilder).
- Assist with the functional testing (commissioning) for building systems.
- Adherence to safety standards. High regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Adherence to ethics standards. Exemplifies the Carrier code of ethics.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Working towards an AA/AS or BS engineering or engineering technology degree preferred working toward ME/MET degree.
- Competency with Microsoft software including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Aptitude for systems-level thinking.
- Competent verbal and written communicator. Aptitude for translating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Able to balance multiple concurrent priorities.
- Aptitude for problem solving.
- Time management skills including the ability to accurately estimate time required to complete tasks and deliver on the committed timeline.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Possess and maintain valid and current form of government issued identification.
- Ability to report to assigned work location reliably.
- Willingness and ability to travel 20% of average workweek
