About the role

To plan and carry out field support activities for the EMS wireless Fire Detection and alarm product lines. Complete site visit reports in accordance with company requirements. Maintain and develop EMS products and services to the Fire and Security industry. To support sales activities as required, in accordance with the company plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend sites where EMS products are installed to provide technical assistance to installer/maintaining companies.
  • Complete site visit reports in accordance with company requirements.
  • Carry out radio site surveys as part of company sales requirements.
  • Maintain and develop existing customer relationships aligning with company objectives.
  • Respond to and follow up technical enquiries as necessary.
  • Liaise with and inform the internal Technical Support Department regarding any site technical information required by installing and maintaining companies.  
  • Attend technical conference calls to discuss any sites regionally that require technical assistance.   
  • Plan and prioritize personal workload.
  • Ensure that all efforts are undertaken to meet company targets and timescales.
  • Attend and present at customer and internal meetings in accordance with regional and company objectives.
  • Maintain a computerized diary and contact list.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care of equipment.
  • Complete and supply expenses for travel and lodgings as per company requirements.
  • Any additional training requirements to be highlighted to Technical Services Manager for action if deemed necessary.
  • Undertaken customer training on EMS products when suitably trained to do so.
  • Supply technical support regionally and outside of the local area where required.

Requirements

  • A good general knowledge of EMS products and services.
  • An understanding of fire and security industry codes of practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Be able to work well with others to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to present oneself and company products in a professional and competent manner.
  • Appropriate computer skills in Word, Excel, internet, and email.
  • UK full driving license.
  • A natural forward planner able to critically assess his/her own performance.
  • Articulate, well-presented and businesslike.
  • Credible and comfortable in dealing with tense situations.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Provide feedback on new and existing product functionality/operation.
