About the role

As a Sr. Buyer at Carrier, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely availability of direct materials to support manufacturing operations. You will manage supplier relationships, monitor purchase orders and delivery commitments, and proactively address potential material shortages. Your work will help maintain production continuity, optimize inventory levels, and support operational efficiency while contributing to customer satisfaction and on-time delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities
As a Sr. Buyer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Manage the procurement of direct materials to ensure timely availability and support production schedules using SAP and MRP systems.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries, purchase orders, and commitments, proactively identifying shortages and implementing recovery plans.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring material coverage, demand fluctuations, and inventory parameters to prevent shortages, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.
  • Identify potential supply chain disruptions and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and cross-functional teams to minimize production impacts.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including On-Time Delivery (OTD), Past Due, Days of Supply (DOS), and Clear to Build (CTB), to support supplier performance and production continuity.

Requirements
We are looking for people who are analytical, proactive, organized, and results-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to communicate effectively and work under pressure. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in direct material procurement, material planning, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills and knowledge of MRP, JIT, Kanban, and inventory management.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively with international suppliers.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience in the HVAC industry or commercial climate solutions.
  • Experience monitoring supplier performance and managing material shortages in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with inventory optimization and continuous improvement initiatives in procurement or supply chain operations.

Benefits
We offer a competitive total rewards package that may include other benefits and well‑being programs. Offerings vary by role and location and are designed to support employees’ health, security, and success.
