About the role  

This role will be in charge of developing and validatingdesign concepts based on customer requirements, translate concepts into rules based parametric designs, as well as participate in continuous improvement activities including standard work, Kaizen and VSM events.

Key Responsibilities:  

As aNPD Engineer Jr,you’llbe responsible for: 

• Work for Air Handler New Product Development Engineering team to author Engineering rules to drive product design

• Work with offshore design/drafting team to update and maintain drawings

• Update and maintain other engineering artifacts like workbooks and xPloder rules to support product design projects

• Work with 3D geometry and engineering rules to directly support manufacturing using sheet metal flats and bills of material to final forms and assemblies

• Work with manufacturing, supply chain and other stakeholders on prototype and pilot builds and support the plant on production orders if/as required

Requirements

As a minimum you must have: 

• BA/BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

• 1-2 years of experience preferred in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

• Sheet metal, mechanical and electrical design knowledge/experience

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)

• Knowledge of PTC’s Pro/Engineer (Creo) and WindChill applications

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have: 

• Working knowledge of Agile methodology for product development

• Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, XML, VBA

• Familiarity with SAP

• Familiarity with MES

• Able to identify and develop continuous improvement projects to influence and drive change

• HVAC engineering/design/manufacturing knowledge/experience

Soft skills

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities

• Ability to communicate professionally in written and verbal format across a wide audience

• Ambitious self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced design environment
