About the role

Be responsible for understanding the design and manufacturing of products in the plant, development and coordination of cost reduction projects. Lead and support engineering activities and work with multi-disciplinary teams for problem solving. Bridge between design groups and support groups in the plant for coordination of engineering changes and product deviations and issues related to product manufacturing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Design of workflow processes by analyzing methods and assembly. Set up of BOM and process routes in ERP system (SAP, Dataworks, etc) and in traceability and process control systems (Shop Floor Control).
  • Focal point between design groups in UTEC USA and with UTEC MX departments for coordination of Engineering changes and deviations that affect processes and products.
  • Responsible for leading and improving the product introduction and development process in the manufacturing plant with a focus on cost savings and process improvement.
  • Ensure that products meet design engineering specifications, customer requirements as well as UL, CSA, ETL, etc. regulatory agency requirements.
  • Introduction and launches of new products and management of timelines with implementation plan.
  • Engineering changes.
  • Deviations of product components, and their approvals and validations.
  • Information management.
  • Interpretation of engineering drawings, BOM's.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are Manufacturing Engineer. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • 3+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or in related areas of design, Product Engineering or New Product Introduction in electronics manufacturing companies.
  • Knowledge of DFM (Design for manufacturability) and interpretation of design specifications on products and their integration with manual and automatic assembly equipment.
  • Bachelor´s Degree in IMA, IME, Industrial Engineering or related.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel Avanced).
  • Advanced English.
  • Knowledge of PLM, MRP and Shop floor control systems as: Windchill, SAP (must), Pro-Engineer, AEGIS, Autocad (plus), etc.
