About the Role

As a Manager, Accounting & Controllership, you will lead critical accounting and financial reporting activities that support Carrier’s business operations and strategic objectives. In this role, you will ensure compliance with statutory and US GAAP requirements, maintain a strong internal control environment, and provide valuable financial guidance to business partners. You will also have the opportunity to lead a team, drive process improvements, and contribute to the overall financial success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

As a Manager, Accounting & Controllership, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Reviewing and submitting financial data, including HFM supplemental data, for Corporate Reporting and supporting CFIN initiatives.

  • Reviewing and approving revenue recognition calculations and related accounting entries to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

  • Reviewing and approving monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Serving as the primary contact for statutory filings and STAT-to-GAAP requirements.

  • Performing balance sheet fluctuation analysis and maintaining a strong internal controls environment.

  • Creating and maintaining accounting standard work documentation.

  • Providing accounting guidance and support to business partners and field operations teams.

  • Managing and developing a small team, including remote employees.

  • Supporting internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborating cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance.

  • Advanced English proficiency, both written and verbal.

  • Previous experience working within Software or Services companies.

  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience with HFM, BlackLine, and banking software.

  • Knowledge of revenue recognition and capitalization accounting.

  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting and US GAAP requirements.

  • Experience supporting financial reporting, controllership, and compliance activities.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Prior people management experience leading on-site and remote teams.

  • Experience driving process improvement and financial transformation initiatives.

  • Exposure to multinational or shared services environments.

  • Experience supporting corporate reporting and CFIN-related projects.

  • Professional accounting certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent.
