Role Overview
As part of Carrier’s Digital Manufacturing Transformation, we are looking for a dynamic individual to strategically lead the implementation of innovations related to the Industry 4.0 tenants to enable key capabilities required to differentiate the manufacturing footprint.
The I4.0 Product Manager is a critical role on the Connected Factory team. The role is responsible for developing and executing the overall manufacturing innovation vision, having deep manufacturing operations understanding and partnership with business stakeholders to deliver product solutions for the global carrier factories. The I4.0 product manager is responsible for product validation, selection, planning and deployment having customer obsession and passion to deliver the optimal solutions.
This role will report to the Manufacturing Innovation Manager for Connected Factory (Solid).
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of solutions related to I4.0 technologies, having a global scope and broad ownership of DT consultants and integrators to achieve the project key dates defined by stakeholders.
- Walk backwards the internal customer requirements to ensure solution meets the expected deliverables from a qualitative and quantitative perspectives.
- Evaluate different solutions considering both, technical as well as business requirements.
- Work closely with Integration COE, ERP COE, DT Factory COE, to socialize and validate new solutions.
- Define implementation roadmaps working closely with internal customers.
- Ensure introduced solutions comply with Carrier’s privacy policy and cybersecurity standards.
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful implementation of initiatives.
- Provide SME (Subject Matter Expertise) as DT technical resource for customer consultations and initial customer deployments.
- Expand the manufacturing capabilities and the product scale to the global Carrier footprint while dealing with multiple modern and legacy systems.
- Document lessons learnt, benefits and impact of product implementation across factory sites.
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Agile Product Owner and/or Scrum Master certified or have “on the job” experience.
- Certified solution architect on AWS (desired).
- Master’s degree in applicable discipline (desired).
Domain Expertise & Experience
- 10+ years on industrial manufacturing operations.
- 5+ years of experience on industrial automation and connectivity with test devices, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, press machines, robotics, AGV/SGV’s.
- 5+ years of experience on Industry 4.0 transformations such as IIoT, Big Data, AI and Machine Learning, Cloud computing, vision systems, Augmented Reality, Digital Twins, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics, Labeling and Packaging, etc.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of digital or software product experience including experience in product management and/or product owner role.
- 5+ years Cloud computing with any major provider (AWS preferred).
- Minimum of > 3 years of proven, hands-on experience in Agile methodologies.
- Pre-existing experience and/or demonstrated aptitude for learning digital tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, etc.
Skills & Abilities
- Factory hardware and software technology integration.
- PLC & SCADA Systems integration experience.
- Knowledge of multiple industrial device types: PLCs, sensors, vision systems, testers, etc.
- Good understanding for industrial network technologies, cyber security, and remote connections.
- Self-motivated to innovate. Critical thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and adaptability.
Other requirements
- Fluent in English language both spoken and written is a must.
- Willing to travel internationally (up to 33%).
- Willing to deal with multicultural, multilingual, and multiple time zone, global environments.
