About the role

As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for bringing automation projects to life within our manufacturing operations. This role is focused on hands-on implementation, from identifying opportunities and designing solutions to executing, launching, and optimizing automated systems on the production floor.

You will play a key role in improving manufacturing efficiency, quality, and scalability by developing and deploying automation solutions that directly impact operational performance across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Automation Specialist, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the implementation of automation projects in manufacturing plants, ensuring on-time and high-quality execution

  • Identifying automation opportunities and translating them into practical equipment and process solutions

  • Designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes using automation and control systems (PLCs)

  • Monitoring the performance of installed equipment and driving continuous improvements

  • Developing proof of concept (POC) solutions and supporting their scalability across operations

  • Collaborating with vendors and integrators to specify, build, and deploy automation equipment

  • Leading installation and startup activities, coordinating technicians, engineers, and operators across sites

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously, including timelines, risks, and resources

  • Building business cases for automation investments and supporting approval processes

  • Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards

Requirements

We are looking for people who are hands-on, analytical, and results-driven, with a strong ability to execute and deliver automation solutions in dynamic manufacturing environments. If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics or related)

  • 5–7 years of experience in automation, controls, and manufacturing environments

  • Strong experience working with PLCs and control systems (Siemens, Rockwell or similar)

  • Proven experience leading automation or capital equipment implementation projects

  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing floor environments and equipment startup

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

  • Experience with autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs) or robotics

  • Experience in new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing assembly environments

  • Regional or global project experience
