These are the questions we encounter daily at The Digital Foundry at Carrier. As the new product innovation studio at Carrier Global, the Digital Foundry launches connected platforms and products that leverage IoT data to solve unmet needs. Our cross-disciplinary team includes product managers, technologists, strategists, researchers, interaction designers, product designers, and software engineers who are passionate about the ability of technology to change the world for the better.
Designers at Carrier have a passion for built environments, an empathy for lived experiences, and an interest in connected solutions. We work on a range of complex digital innovation and strategic design projects critical to Carrier's continued business growth.
As a Digital Product Designer, you will define behaviors, interactions, and workflows across touch-points and channels that are grounded in a deep understanding of user needs, mindsets, and behaviors.
- Clarify user goals, needs, mindsets, and behaviors through primary research.
- Conduct secondary research to understand best practices and gain inspiration.
- Define product interactions necessary to support user goals.
- Produce and own artifacts such as user requirements specifications, user flows, and personas.
- Design digital interfaces, including dashboards, charts, and data visualizations.
- Create prototypes to illustrate functionality for implementation.
- Document detailed design specifications for engineers.
- Conduct usability testing, user acceptance testing, and other forms of requirements discovery.
- Collaborate with other designers to develop and iterate approaches to solve a problem.

The Digital Foundry at Carrier is an innovation studio that focuses on connected products and platforms. We are building solutions to reimagine large-scale systems that shape the way we live, work, and play. We're setting the standard for healthier, safer, and more resilient built environments – and connecting the cold chain to improve the process of safely shipping and storing food and critical medical supplies.

Key Responsibilities
- Map out user flows, wireframes, and experiences for a digital product
- Design stimuli for qualitative user research
- Represent both the UI and UX disciplines on a product team
- Collaborate cross-functionally across different disciplines, including engineering, design, and research
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field(e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, User Experience, Visual Communication)
- 3.0 or higher GPA
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Proactive and results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Fluent in relevant design and prototyping tools – especially Figma.
- Emerging knowledge of capabilities and limitations of technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Proven ability to create site maps, wireframes, and other common UX design artifacts.
- Relevant internships or co-op experiences within Product Design, Visual Design, and UX Design positions.
- Team player with a positive, collaborative work ethic
- Digitally savvy with an interest in cutting-edge digital trends
- Less than one year of professional work experience
- Flexibility and mobility to be located in either West Palm Beach, Florida, or Atlanta, GA location.
