About This Role
Carrier is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Executive Compensation to join its Global Total Rewards team. This role is designed for a seasoned executive compensation professional with global equity and stock plan administration experience who can operate effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
Reporting to the Director of Executive Compensation, the Associate Director will play a key role in supporting the administration of executive compensation programs, including executive offers, global long‑term incentive and equity plans, and U.S. deferred compensation programs. The role partners closely with stakeholders across HR, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and external vendors to ensure programs are administered accurately, consistently, and in compliance with applicable requirements. The position also contributes to continuous improvement efforts, including process optimization and development of standard work documentation
Key Responsibilities
Support executive job evaluation and position leveling activities in alignment with Carrier’s governance framework and in partnership with the Director of Executive Compensation.
Partner on the executive offer process for new hires and promotions to the executive level, including coordination and analysis of cash and equity buyout considerations.
Support the administration of Carrier’s global equity and long‑term incentive programs.
Lead the day‑to‑day management of the equity management system, including grant processing, vesting events and settlements, tax and payroll coordination, exercises, terminations, and data integrations with HR, Payroll, and external equity vendors.
Perform reconciliations, audits, and validation checks related to equity transactions to support data accuracy, internal controls, and reporting requirements.
Provide operational support for monthly accounting close and global payroll processes across approximately 23 countries, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in partnership with internal stakeholders.
Support SOX controls, internal audits, and global compliance activities related to executive compensation and equity programs.
Partner with Legal and the Corporate Secretary’s office to support insider trading compliance and Section 16 reporting activities, including tracking and documentation.
Partner with the Director of Executive Compensation to support preparation of Compensation Committee and Board materials, including analyses, exhibits, and supporting schedules for executive compensation programs and equity awards.
Support monthly and annual enrollment processes for U.S. deferred compensation programs covering base salary and incentive compensation.
Assist with annual deferred compensation distributions in coordination with Benefits, Payroll, external vendors, and the Corporate Secretary’s office.
Participate in annual compensation planning and equity expense forecasting processes in collaboration with Total Rewards colleagues, FP&A, and accounting partners.
Serve as a key point of contact for equity‑related questions from HR Business Partners, executives, employees, and former employees, escalating issues as appropriate.
Drive continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline executive compensation and equity administration workflows.
Develop, maintain, and enhance standard work documentation, including procedures, controls, and reference materials, to support consistency, scalability, and knowledge transfer.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of executive compensation communications, tools, and training materials.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
7+ years of experience in executive compensation in a public company environment
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated depth in global equity and stock plan administration
Working knowledge of executive compensation programs, governance practices, and regulatory considerations, including SEC reporting and tax requirements.
Strong analytical and technical skills, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) and PowerPoint
Certified Equity Professional (CEP) designation preferred but not required.
Experience partnering with external vendors and cross‑functional stakeholders across multiple geographies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across functions and levels.
Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable supporting evolving priorities in a global organization.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with discretion and sound judgment.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities and defined deadlines.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.Other Compensation
