About the role
As a Chiller Service & Troubleshooting Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting of chiller systems. Your primary focus will be on diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to chillers, refrigeration systems, and associated components. You will work to maximize equipment efficiency, minimize downtime, and provide exceptional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Chiller Maintenance:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on chiller systems to ensure they operate at peak efficiency.
Conduct inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
Implement and manage maintenance schedules to meet client requirements and industry standards.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues related to chiller systems, refrigeration circuits, and associated control systems.
Utilize technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
Respond promptly to service calls and emergencies to address system malfunctions and minimize downtime.
Repair and Replacement:
Execute repairs on faulty components or systems, coordinating with suppliers for replacement parts as needed.
Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades or replacements based on performance evaluations and technological advancements.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed records of service activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
Generate comprehensive reports outlining findings, recommended actions, and solutions for clients and internal teams.
Customer Interaction:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients through effective communication and exceptional customer service.
Provide technical guidance to clients on operating procedures, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
Training and Development:
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to chiller systems.
Provide training to junior technicians and share knowledge within the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVACR, or a related field.
Proven experience in chiller system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, control systems, and associated components.
Familiarity with a variety of chiller types, including absorption, centrifugal, and screw chillers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., HVACR, CFC Certification) are a plus.
Working Conditions:
Fieldwork required, including responding to emergency service calls.
Flexibility in working hours, especially during peak seasons or urgent service requests.
Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
