About the role
Supervises team of entry to intermediate level Commodity / Account Management & Strategic Sourcing professionals or supervisors, setting day-to-day goals and objectives. Responsible for setting negotiation terms and service levels in for suppliers to improve commodity management and sourcing effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
The Sr Specialist – Indirect Procurement will collaborate with the Supply Chain Category Management team and internal Centers of Excellence (CoE) to build and maintain the annual RFx pipeline. This role is accountable for performing category spend analytics, managing RFx timelines, assessing risks, creating mitigation plans, and ensuring productivity targets are achieved. The position requires adherence to Carrier’s standard sourcing processes and effective use of tools such as Ariba to execute RFx events.
Additionally, the role focuses on building organizational capability and capacity to support growth and high-performance expectations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and driving talent attraction, engagement, development, and retention.
You will work with global supply chain, regions across sites, and your team to make things happen
A. Core Sourcing knowledge
1. Knowledge and exposure to Indirect categories, cost reduction, sourcing, best practice RFQ’s, negotiation process thereby guiding team to drive best outcomes for Carrier
2. Strong exposure in category analytics, productivity levers, cost estimation, negotiations, and stakeholder management
3. Should have worked directly in analyzing Total Cost of Ownership of products/services
4. Hands on experience in working on spend data to drive actionable insights for spend category
5. Should have experience driving initiatives for indirect categories to enable productivity
B. Team strategy

2. Periodic engagement with stakeholders to define strategy, align on strategy, adapt strategy based on changing business needs and stakeholders expectations

Requirements
- Bachelors Degree from a premier institute is a must, MBA preferred
- 12-15 years of supply chain management experience, exposure to CoE environment essential
- Strong sourcing knowledge
- Ability to work in a global environment with global stakeholders across multiple countries
- Strategic thinking- ability to think through and independently define priorities
