About the role

SLD Pumps & Power (a Carrier company) is one of the UK's leading suppliers of pumps and generator rental equipment. We are currently recruiting for a Regional Generator Engineer for our depot in Dukinfield. The overall objective is to work within the depot team to maintain the plant equipment to a high standard within the Depot which in turn will improve revenue.

Requirements

We are looking for people who have experience in repairing and maintenance of generators / diesel generators . If this is you, get in touch.

As a minimum you must have:

  • Previous experience in working with generators
  • Diesel Service Engineer Skills
  • NVQ3 or suitable Apprenticeship
  • Flexibility to work away from home as required
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good working knowledge of EHSQ
  • Team Working Skills
  • Time Management

As a Regional Generator Engineer your responsibility will be:

  • To work on the repair and maintenance of all hire fleet equipment
  • To service, repair and overhaul equipment and associated components both within the depot, at customer premises and third party sites;
  • To assess off-hired hire fleet equipment and judge the level of repair needed;
  • To assist with the loading and unloading of hire fleet equipment onto the lorry for deliveries through the use of both Forklift Truck and manual loading.
  • To be on the 24 Hour on-call service Rota within the Depot;
  • To ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained to a high standard;
  • To report any major problems within the equipment to the Foreman/Depot Supervisor;
  • To attend customer call outs and deal with any issue that arise
  • Provide support to our Depot Team(s) with any relevant maintenance issues.
  • Conduct work in accordance with all current legislations, codes of practice and British Standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Complete quarterly ethics module as advised by Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)
  • Fully comply with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE).
