About this role

The Senior Manager Material Planning & SIOP oversees processes, tools, strategy, and the day-to-day activities of the supply planning team to fulfill customer demand on the production lines, ensuring that all supply chain operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for developing and executing supply plans with factories, suppliers, and cross-functional teams that support the company's overall business objectives. This role requires a strong analytical thinker with a robust understanding of supply chain management and excellent leadership skills.

This is an onsite role in Charlotte NC. Responsible for the air-cooled chiller production line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of intermediate or experienced material planners and schedulers supporting the air-cooled chiller value stream at the Charlotte factory
  • Maintain “clear to build” horizon of 2 weeks to limit operational “turnbacks” on material availability at point of use
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment
  • Analyze forecasted requirements, planned orders, and production orders to determine optimal inventory levels
  • Utilize Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to coordinate material planning
  • Lead in the establishment of plans and maintaining data for purchased parts, subassemblies, end items and other parts as required.
  • Define and measure processes with suppliers to ensure timely and simple delivery and receipt
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to align plans for new product introduction and engineering change notifications
  • Work directly with suppliers and procurement to ensure (Supplier on time delivery) SOTD of 95%
  • Actively reduce excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory while limiting all purchase order placement for E&O material
  • Develop and maintain production & delivery schedules that keep with required “takt” time (units per hour)
  • Maintain schedule adherence to plan
  • Make day-to-day decisions within the team or department on scheduling and order placement and material master attributes.
  • Create clear development plans for the employees through training and performance feedback
  • Collaborate with Sales, Inventory, and Operations planning teams to ensure lead schedules and vendor lead times support competitive lead times in the market
  • Collaborate with customer service to provide updates on critical sales order

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6 years of experience in materials planning and/or scheduling
  • 2 years of experience in managing a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in engineering, supply chain, or business
  • MRP Experience i.e. SAP
  • Ability to analyze data, forecasts, and production schedules to make informed decisions
  • English communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Familiarity with technical documents related to materials and production processes, thorough knowledge of material planning and scheduling
  • Effective leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to address material shortages, optimize schedules, and resolve production-related challenges
  • Ensure accurate material planning and scheduling
