Summary

Carrier Transicold is seeking a self-motivated Service Engineer who takes ownership of technical issues and projects from initial investigation through resolution. This role provides advanced technical support for transport refrigeration products and related systems, working closely with dealers, field technicians, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams. The ideal candidate combines strong electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration troubleshooting skills with clear communication, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

  • Provide technical support for escalated field and dealer issues involving transport refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
  • Investigate complex problems using troubleshooting, data analysis, test results, and root cause methods to drive timely resolution.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and technical issues by setting priorities, coordinating cross-functional support, and driving work to completion.
  • Communicate clearly with dealers, technicians, and internal teams by explaining issues, defining action plans, and providing updates through resolution.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and other internal teams to develop and implement corrective actions and product improvements.
  • Document case details, findings, root cause, and resolution steps to support knowledge sharing and future troubleshooting.
  • Represent the Voice of Service in product improvement efforts, field evaluation programs, and new product development activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation such as service bulletins, manuals, work instructions, and training content.
  • Support training and knowledge transfer for dealers, field technicians, and internal stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced technical support for dealer and field-reported issues related to transport refrigeration products, controls, and associated systems.
  • Lead technical investigations, analyze test and field data, identify root cause, and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Own assigned projects and support cases by driving progress, setting priorities, and following through to closure.
  • Work directly with dealers, technicians, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop practical solutions and improve product performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including service bulletins, manuals, work instructions, and knowledge base content.
  • Support field evaluation units, training events, and service readiness activities for new and existing products.

Role Purpose

  • Serve as a key technical resource for Carrier Transicold by resolving complex product issues that impact dealers, technicians, and customers.
  • Drive technical issues and projects forward with a high level of ownership, initiative, and accountability.
  • Strengthen product support and continuous improvement through technical expertise, clear communication, and effective cross-functional collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in engineering, engineering technology, HVAC/R, diesel, automotive, refrigeration, or a technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in service engineering, technical support, field service, product support, or advanced troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10% of the year, domestic and international.
  • Willing and able to work on-call on a rotating basis (approximately once per month) to respond to urgent or emergency operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in Spanish (written and verbal).
  • Valid driver’s license for field visits, approximately once per quarter.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other case management systems.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation, interpreting schematics and diagnostic data, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong working knowledge of refrigeration systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of projects and issue resolution.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, diagnostic data, and test results to identify root cause and recommend corrective action.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to support remote technicians and communicate effectively with dealers and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and in a cross-functional team environment to solve problems and improve processes.

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.

Other Compensation

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
