About This Role

The Internal Logistics Manager is responsible for leading all internal material flow activities from receiving through point-of-use delivery to production. This role ensures materials are available at the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity to support uninterrupted production while optimizing warehouse utilization, labor productivity, inventory flow, and material handling processes.

The position drives operational excellence through standardized material flow processes, continuous improvement initiatives, KPI management, and cross-functional collaboration with Planning, Scheduling, Production, Inventory Control, Procurement, and Logistics teams. The Internal Logistics Manager owns the execution of material movement strategies that support safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost objectives.

Job Description

Internal Material Flow Management

  • Lead all internal logistics operations including receiving, warehouse movement, kitting, staging, replenishment, and line-side delivery.

  • Ensure uninterrupted material flow from receiving docks to production consumption points.

  • Develop and maintain standardized material delivery routes and replenishment processes.

  • Optimize material presentation and point-of-use inventory strategies.

  • Drive warehouse and material flow efficiency improvements.

Production Support

  • Ensure line-side material availability to support production schedules.

  • Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling teams to align material flow with production requirements.

  • Lead rapid response activities for material shortages and production disruptions.

  • Develop escalation processes to prevent line stoppages.

Warehouse & Receiving Operations

  • Manage receiving, put-away, storage, staging, and replenishment activities.

  • Improve dock-to-stock performance and receiving execution.

  • Monitor warehouse utilization and material storage practices.

  • Drive inventory accuracy through proper material handling and transaction discipline.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead warehouse layout optimization projects.

  • Implement material flow improvements to reduce waste and travel distance.

  • Support footprint reduction and space utilization initiatives.

  • Drive labor productivity improvements through lean material flow principles.

  • Lead kaizen events and operational excellence projects related to material movement.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead Internal Logistics Supervisors, Material Handlers, Receiving personnel, and Warehouse support teams.

  • Develop employee capabilities through training, coaching, and succession planning.

  • Establish a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Conduct performance reviews and development planning.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and material handling requirements.

  • Lead forklift and material handling equipment safety initiatives.

  • Maintain warehouse housekeeping and visual management standards.

  • Support environmental, health, and safety objectives.

This role serves as the operational owner for receiving, warehouse execution, internal material movement, replenishment, and production material availability, while partnering closely with the Inventory Manager and Planning.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of materials, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experience

  • 3+ years of experience influencing teams through reporting and risk management, with hands-on expertise in inventory management, transportation, lean operations, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations

  • Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment

  • Lean Six Sigma experience or certification

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
