About the role:

Looking for a specialist with good communication skills, hands on experience of bid preparation and tendering for HVAC Data Center projects.

Position overview:

The Regional Data Center (DC) Inside Sales Engineer is a newly created role responsible for supporting the South Asia region with pre-sale activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the core team with bid pre-qualification preparation, costing, and quote generation. Additionally, the role involves liaising with various functions such as legal, finance, factory, and engineering to ensure compliance with internal processes and technical requirements of bids. The candidate will play a crucial role in supporting bid preparations and providing technical expertise.

The Position:

  • Assist in the preparation and pre-qualification of bids, ensuring alignment with project requirements and customer expectations.
  • Prepare cost estimates and create detailed, accurate quotes for potential projects.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, factory, and engineering teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and technical standards.
  • Support the Data Center Core Team in bid preparations and provide necessary technical input.
  • Use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to analyze data and create compelling presentations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD for technical drawings and HVAC considerations.

Relationships:

Reports directly to:  Associate Director, DC Business Development South Asia Pacific region

Peer Relationship: Southeast Asia Pacific DC team, Country sales teams, functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, legal, finance.

Experience:

  • Solid understanding and an ideal experience of at least 5 years of bid preparation and qualification processes.
  • Strong liaison skills for effective communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation purposes.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and knowledgeable about HVAC systems.
  • Advantageous to possess knowledge of in-country or regional tax and customs duty structures.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • HVAC knowledge with at least 5 to 10 years of HVAC experience in bidding and technical document preparation for bids
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
