About the role

The Project Engineer (Sustaining Engineer) is responsible for researching, planning, developing, and implementing key programs and cost optimization projects in areas including, but not limited to, mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, thermodynamic, or heat transfer for production. The candidate will apply research to the planning, design, testing, and implementation follow-up of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems. The role involves developing and improving design products for manufacturing and quality, investigating pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, material and equipment availability, communality, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and cost. Project administration best practices are required to implement changes in a cost-effective and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Project Engineer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead and execute engineering projects focused on cost reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Manage project/engineering activities, including technical reviews, business case analysis, and coordination for project implementation.
  • Conduct component and system qualifications for cost reduction strategies.
  • Oversee testing, certification, and program management in heat transfer, fluids flow, and thermodynamics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: manufacturing, quality, supply chain, design, and production.
  • Utilize tools such as ASANA and Windchill for project tracking and updates.
  • Generate and validate engineering change requests (ECRs) and tickets for samples and lab tests.
  • Maintain communication and validation of results with global teams.

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in engineering projects, HVAC, cost reduction, and product quality.
  • Advanced English (Mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems (components, motors, etc.).
  • Experience with Windchill, SAP, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Problem-solving skills (A3, 8D, PFMEA, CX).
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Driving license required; passport and visa preferred.

It would be nice if you have:

  • Experience in automotive industry (HVAC focus) and Green Belt certification is a plus.
