OUR ENGINEERING TEAM

NORESCO’s Water/Wastewater Engineering Group is responsible for identifying savings, optimization, and new revenue opportunities for water and wastewater utilities. Our team’s primary focus is to analyze current facility operations and to develop opportunities for upgrades that will either reduce operating costs or increase revenue. We have formed a growing team to support these projects and need to add to its capabilities to support current and forecast workloads.

We have an immediate need for a Senior Level Engineer of Wastewater and Water Engineering. Our location preference is flexible at this time.

You will be responsible for developing wastewater and water energy conservation measures for Progressive Design Build Guarantee or other performance-based contracts in municipal, large institutional and industrial treatment facilities. You will initially support business development initiatives by conducting audits to identify and quantify operational cost and resource conservation opportunities associated with upgrades to treatment processes. Responsibilities will include site investigations, developing conceptual energy conservation measures, estimating energy savings and revenue, developing cost estimates and written descriptions of energy conservation measures in support of proposals and technical audits. During the Conceptual and Preliminary Design phases you will manage external consulting engineers in developing conceptual drawing packages and will prepare subcontractor Request for Proposals (RFP) for bidding. During the implementation phase you will provide engineering support for NORESCO’s in-house construction team.

Substantial knowledge of wastewater and water treatment plant processes is required, including pumping systems, aeration systems, digestion systems, digester gas processing systems, sludge drying systems, disinfection systems and variable speed drives and controls.

In order to be successful in this position, you will need to perform the following tasks:

• Analyze operational cost to determine customer energy performance and baseline cost parameters.

• Identify and quantify energy conservation opportunities associated with wastewater and water treatment plant processes for ESPC projects.

• Ability to write scopes of work for wastewater and water treatment plant process upgrades for subcontractor bidding.

• Perform technical presentations of energy reduction opportunities at oral presentations to customers.

• Write detailed energy conservation measure descriptions to be included in proposal submissions including sequences of operation.

In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have the following minimum requirements:

• BS in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or equivalent with at least 8 years’ experience in water and wastewater treatment.

• Experience writing, reviewing and optimizing control sequences of operation to control process energy consumption.

• Proficient in MS Office software, excellent oral and written communication skills and prior experience dealing with customers.
