About the role:
As a Workday Extend Lead, you will have the opportunity to work in partnership with global cross-functional teams to ensure maximum value out of Carrier’s Workday HCM investment. The role is responsible for architecting and implementing Workday Extend capabilities across the various Workday HCM functional areas, whether independently, as a team member, or in a lead capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Consult with business and technical teams about app design and maintenance; collaborate on design decisions
Design and develop custom extend applications and conduct unit testing
Provide support for any issues related to Extend apps and relevant incident management and app log monitoring
Manage existing Workday Extend applications deployed in production
Perform routine break/fix support and regression testing and support the inbound/outbound interfaces to the systems
Ensure accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, clear documentation and problem resolution
Analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
Ensure applications function as designed based on functional and technical requirements
Understand and follow defined integration/development standards and best practices
Understand and ensure security and data privacy standards
Owns and develops operational plans for critical HR Technology programs for an assigned area, ensuring programs are delivered consistently, timely, and compliantly.
Recommends and implements HR Technology policies and procedures, consistent with requirements and adjustments, for the unique needs of the assigned area.
Develops presentations and documentation for senior leadership on the structure of HR Technology programs.
Coordinates responses and solutions to complex questions from employees and other HR professionals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Human Resources or related field
5+ years of experience in HR technology with at least 2 years of experience in Workday Extend
Experience with designing, developing and implementing Workday Extend applications.
Experience with model components, presentation services and orchestration
Ability to work and coordinate with business users globally.
Experience with interface, networking, and data warehousing technologies, as well as design, relational database technologies, and performance tuning
Experience with Web Services and APIs (WSDL, SOAP, REST and WS standards)
Understand extend architecture, business objects, functional interactions, and recognize and understand impacts to downstream systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and leadership.
Strong attention to detail, problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle both planned and unplanned responsibilities.
Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution.
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
