Carrier is looking for a qualified candidate to join its Automated Logic division to serve as an Account Manager focusing on growth within the Data Center market. The Account Manager will focus on driving building automation software, controls and peripherals within the Data Center and perhaps other assigned verticals. The Account Manager will engage with and support Carrier’s Global Enterprise and Key Accounts teams as well as channel partners and end customers with their go to market strategies around Data Centers and automation.
Who are we looking for?
We are in search of a highly motivated, team oriented, self-disciplined Account Manager to own customer relationships and drive account development and financial growth focused on data center solutions providers.
What are the challenges and how will you make an impact?
As a Account Manager you will work closely with global account teams to ensure their transition to, and long-term utilization of, Carrier building automation products. This position will be responsible for building and expanding relationships with strategically important Data Center Customers. Some of your key job activities will include: sales support, product support, training, product development support, and technical escalations. Diving deeper into sales support, you will be responsible for collaborating with Carrier Global Enterprise and Key Accounts in the development of sales strategies for assigned accounts globally. This may include lead generation and follow-up, proposal development, product selection and specification, sales presentation prep, applications support and promotion of products through formal product demonstrations, etc. Also, you will complete monthly revenue forecasts, maintain and update leading sales indicators, and execute on account development plans.

As such, you will have the opportunity to stay in tune with the latest trends in the automation and communications industries, listening to and documenting customer requests, collecting information for competitive analysis, as well as engaging customers and Carrier Building Technologies product management and engineering team members to deliver the right products to the market. As a Carrier team member, working with internal groups as well as our customers, you will interact with many other disciplines and cross functional teams such as: engineers, sales leaders, executives, product managers, software and hardware developers, operations leaders, procurement, equipment reps, etc. giving you a well-rounded view of our business and the controls industry in general.
Responsibilities
- Identify and promote standard methodologies globally
- Develop and implement account management strategies
- Provide counsel & sales presentations to account teams & end customers
- Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets
- Collaborate with other Carrier business and sales channels globally
- Develop new product and services selling strategies
- Collect and deliver voice-of-customer
- Work across internal teams to support sales, training & technical requirements
- Provide/participate in sales and product training to account teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience in the HVAC & Building Management Systems Market
- 2+ years of experience selling products, services, or systems into the Data Center market
- Travel 25% or more
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive experience with Building Automation Systems
- Advanced Executive presentation skills
- Dedicated problem solver
- Excellent analytical, and computer technical skills
- Ability to develop constructive and collaborative working relationships across functional teams
- Up-to-date on new technologies and ability to apply new knowledge and techniques
- Capable of working independently and comfortable making decisions
- Use and familiarity with the following software packages: MS Office – Outlook (power user), Excel (power user), PowerPoint (power user), Word, Visio
- Account management, applications engineering, and/or product support experience preferred.
- Proficiency with SalesForce CRM platform

Pay Range:
