Carrier Transicold UK has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager. The Manager in this role must have knowledge and developed expertise in Supply Chain Management. You will have the opportunity to excel in a well-rounded leadership position where you will manage the Warehouse in Oldham and provide leadership and support to the Transport & Customs team in Warrington and the Warehouse team based in Oldham, whilst overseeing the department’s efficiency and productivity. Managing and developing relationships with external and internal stakeholders and customers is also key to this role.
This role will work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives which have an impact on Supply Chain objectives and operational goals. Together with managing the teams, the Manager will be responsible for analysing data to provide meaningful management information to quantify business decisions relating to the VOR operation, inventory management, returns policies, domestic and FG freight charges, transport services and customs compliance. To Manage to have experience and understanding of import and export customs requirements when shipping goods to and from Europe and UK/NI/ROI. This is a hands-on role requiring key monthly tasks to be completed on JDE in line with month end requirements and supporting the CRC team as required.

Requirements:
- 2+ years relevant experience in the supply chain management
- 2+ years people management experience
- 2 years’ experience of importing and exporting customs procedures for shipping from/to EU to UK/NI and ROI
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically, Word and Excel for data analysis
- Knowledge of Power BI, warehouse databases and reporting tools
- Ability to build tools to measure and monitor supply chain functions, operational efficiency, commercial needs and other key business performance metrics
- Strong organization, planning reporting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to resolve problems as they arise, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
- Strong organizational, collaborative and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Create an environment in which people are involved, engaged and take ownership
- Competent understanding of financial and accounting principles
As a Supply Chain Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Management of a small team of up to 4 staff
- Driving teams to reach short and long-term objectives with clearly defined action plans in line with business goals
- Being accountable for warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, compliance including customs and together with EH&S Manager for EH&S
- Introducing initiatives to identify opportunities to improve or change productivity through:
- Process improvement
- Stock management
- Audit controls for stock and compliance
- Selecting & monitoring preferred Transport Service Providers
- Effective reporting, KPIs and management information summarizing key data
- Motivating teams to reach their potential and defined objectives
- Managing or supporting tender processes and negotiating best prices and terms with TSPs
- Anticipating, recommending and implementing solutions for service and system issues that arise
- Improving communication channels and relationships between departments – verbally, in writing and via scheduled update and progress reports
- JDE management role – adjusting stock, managing inventory queries, supporting other teams
- Supporting and working with CRC, Sales, After Sales and Finance Teams
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by on-time performance and delivery
- Conducting business within Carrier’s policies and procedures
