About the role
This role involves leading a team of seasoned professionals and leaders in the field of embedded control software development and quality assurance. The primary responsibilities include project execution, policy implementation, risk identification, allocation of tasks and resources, providing mentorship and career growth opportunities for team members, and liaising with stakeholders. This position requires effective management skills and a strong understanding of software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the HVAC Controls team to enhance product development capabilities, focusing on Embedded Controls design and development.
- Lead strategic initiatives such as New Product Development, systems engineering and innovation.
- Coordinate with global cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives across Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and business units.
- Manage teams with a focus on policy and provide leadership & direction to achieve organizational goals & objectives.
- Mentor the team in system-level product development for HVAC-R products.
- Design a career development program to building a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Provide technical leadership in embedded control software Engineering and improve its effectiveness.
- As a program manager, manage and deliver multiple new product development or sustaining programs.
- Oversee project work allocation and contractor performance to ensure quality.
- Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop a team of professional software engineers & administrative support staff.
- Be willing to travel between locations for business needs.
- Represent the organization at important events to present findings or recommendations, negotiate agreements, or exchange information.
As a Minimum You Must Have
- Strong Business Ethics, Excellent communication, Strategic Leadership, Customer Orientation, Focus on Results, Agility, Analytical Abilities, Innovation, Business Judgment, Forward Thinking, Listening and Teamwork.
- Technically sound in Embedded development, Linux, C++, RTOS experience.
- Good understanding of Product security, hardware design, IoT, cloud, edge computing and Analytics
- Experience with Six Sigma or equivalent, PMP certification, process, and tools
- Successfully lead a portfolio of projects.
- Experience in executing passport /stage gate-based development process.
- Experience with HVAC-R Industry
- Requires broad management and leadership knowledge to lead project teams. University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience as people manager.
