About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team, with a focus on testing hardware and firmware for safety critical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing, with experience in automated testing and knowledge of industry standards for safety-critical systems, as well as knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, RS-485, and Ethernet.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field,
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing for safety critical systems,
  • Strong experience in automated testing,
  • Familiarity with industry standards for safety critical systems such as IEC 61508 or similar,
  • Strong problem-solving skills,
  • Experience with test case management tools,
  • Knowledge of test methodologies and techniques,
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills,
  • Understanding of safety and security standards for embedded systems,
  • Experience with safety critical system design and compliance with industry regulations and standards,
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, RS-485, and Ethernet.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases and test procedures for hardware and firmware of safety critical systems,
  • Execute testing on hardware and firmware to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices,
  • Identify and document defects in hardware and firmware and track them through to resolution,
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts to ensure efficient and consistent testing,
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to identify and mitigate potential issues,
  • Participate in safety analysis and risk assessment to identify and mitigate hazards,
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards such as EN 50128 and EN 50155,
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members,
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and developments in testing and quality assurance,
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as CAN, RS-485, and Ethernet.
