About this Role:
Carrier Supply Chain has a role open for a Senior Manager – Global Supplier Planning who will be a critical leader and member of the Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence.
This role is responsible for developing and deploying a global supplier capacity management and resiliency process across the supply base. This includes process design, data collection strategy, governance model, and system enablement for a company across multiple regions. As part of the Supply Chain Center of Excellence (CoE), this individual will work cross-functionally with Procurement, Supply Chain, Supplier Development, and Digital to build a process from scratch—influencing key stakeholders across multiple regions to adopt the new standards.
This person will also embed risk management into the capacity management process—ensuring the company can proactively identify and mitigate supplier capacity constraints and resiliency risks before they impact delivery or customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Global Process Design & Ownership
Develop the end-to-end process for supplier capacity and resiliency management.
Define governance structures, roles, responsibilities, and operating cadence across regions and functions.
Create standard work, templates, and training materials for global rollout.
Supplier Capacity Management
Establish a standard method for collecting supplier capacity data (equipment, tooling, labor shifts).
Work with Procurement and Supplier Development to embed capacity data collection into ongoing supplier reviews and sourcing processes.
Design a process for regular capacity updates, identifying early risks based on demand shifts.
System & Data Strategy
Map existing ERP systems and data availability gaps across regions.
Collaborate with IT to define system requirements for future-state supplier capacity and risk management tools.
Design dashboards and KPIs to give real-time visibility into supplier capacity and resilience.
Cross-functional Leadership
Facilitate workshops with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, and Supplier Development to align on process and data ownership.
Influence regional leaders to adopt the global standard process, balancing global consistency with regional flexibility.
Establish and drive Supply Planning Review, integrate with S&OP process, identify major demand-supply gaps (i.e. shortages, capacity), evaluate options, and make decisions to close the gaps.
Continuous Improvement
Establish feedback loops from regions and suppliers to continuously improve the process.
Stay updated on industry best practices in capacity management and supply chain resiliency, adjusting the process as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
8+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Supplier Development, or Procurement
3+ years of experience in PPAP and Run at Rate assessments
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree or certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP)
Experience designing and deploying global supply chain processes across regions.
Demonstrated expertise in supplier capacity planning, risk assessment, and resiliency programs.
Previous work in a Center of Excellence (CoE) or Global Process Owner role is a strong advantage.
Knowledge in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor, etc.)
Background in HVAC manufacturing and Quality assurance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
