RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consistently demonstrates proficiency in multiple work areas while maintaining a high level of safety, quality, and productivity. The Logistics Specialist must be a team player who has demonstrated a willingness to be cross trained in multiple work areas and willing to work wherever needed throughout the logistics and shipping departments as determined by members of the management team.
This position is responsible for working with the department management team and serving as a critical link between the logistics team and the shipping execution team. Position will have cross functional collaboration with Planning, Production and Customer Service departments.
The person in this position will:
Work with the Logistics Supervisor/s, Manager and the shipping team members to eliminate, prevent, and resolve any daily shipping issues.
Possess a sense of urgency and demonstrated initiative to improve the shipping department’s performance daily.
Ensure deployment and sustainment of Logistics Dashboards: Logistics Metrics and Trackers: Shipping Tracker, OP8 schedule, RMADs, FSOs and Manual BOLs, RCD, and Accessories.
This Utility Technician role will engage in all aspects of departmental operations and possess the ability to demonstrate process proficiency.
The Logistics Specialist will assist with daily shipment planning when needed, and cross train other members of the team.
Will hold weekly meetings to in order to review the previous weeks' metric results and receive and action Continuous Improvement suggestions.
Problem Solving through Analytical Analysis of Shipping Department.
Initiate and implement Standard Work, job specifications, and the department work processes to ensure that the Carrier Way is maintained on a daily basis.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of experience or demonstrated proficiency in data entry using a database or computer software
2+ years of experience using word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Excel Certification or Advanced Excel Skills
Experience with SAP ERP Program
Logistics and/or Shipping Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work history to work well with others, as well as independently
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
Maintain good attendance
