About This Role
Commercial HVAC Operations is looking for a Materials and Logistics Manager at our Charlotte Factory.
The Materials and Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the storage, distribution, and inventory management of materials required for production and operations. This role ensures the seamless flow of materials, optimizing efficiency, minimizing waste, and ensuring timely delivery to meet production schedules and customer demands. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, expertise in supply chain management, and a data-driven approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for material handling, warehouse operations, and logistics.
- Set clear goals and expectations, providing regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize material flow and logistics processes, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
- Oversee material planning, procurement, receiving, warehousing, and distribution to ensure timely and accurate supply of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels, conduct audits, and implement inventory control measures to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, and suppliers to mitigate risks related to material shortages or supply chain disruptions.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation of materials.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and manage the department budget, optimizing costs while maintaining service levels.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards related to materials handling and logistics.
- Utilize ERP and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, streamline operations, and enhance decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics or Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience with inventory control, demand planning, and warehouse operations.
- 3+ years of experience with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- 3+ years of experience leading teams, drive process improvements, and manage supplier relationships.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS, CPIM, or CSCP certification.
- Experience managing 3PL relationships and transportation logistics.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance in materials handling and transportation.
- Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Energetic, hands-on; able to drive change and continuous improvement.
- Experience applying Six Sigma/Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong computer and system skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to problem-solve.
- Ability to perform under stress, meet project timelines, and work cooperatively and respectfully with others.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- SAP experience preferred.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $96,000.00 - $192,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.Benefits
