The Position

Manager - CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), India

Location: India (Gurgaon / PAN-India travel required)
Reporting to: Head – Marketing & Strategy                                    

The Manager – CSR will lead and scale Carrier India’s CSR strategy and programmes across sustainability, environment stewardship, and skill development, aligned to national priorities and Carrier’s global purpose of creating safe, sustainable, and intelligent climate solutions.

The role will be responsible for driving high-impact, measurable initiatives, building strategic partnerships, ensuring compliance with CSR regulations, and strengthening Carrier’s reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. CSR Strategy & Programme Leadership

  • Design and execute Carrier India’s CSR roadmap across:
    • Sustainability & Environmental Impact (e.g., climate, air quality, circularity)
    • Skill Development (HVAC training, youth employability)
    • Community Development initiatives
  • Translate global ESG priorities into India-relevant, high-impact programmes.
  • Identify scalable flagship initiatives (e.g., education, green campuses, urban environmental impact)

2. Programme Execution & Impact Delivery

  • Drive end-to-end implementation of CSR initiatives including:
    • Partner identification (NGOs, institutions, government bodies)
    • Programme design, rollout, and monitoring.
  • Ensure measurable outcomes (beneficiaries trained, environmental impact metrics, community reach)
  • Build impact frameworks and annual CSR reporting dashboards.

3. Partnerships & Ecosystem Building

  • Develop strategic alliances with:
    • Skill development institutions and technical training centers
    • Environmental and sustainability organizations
    • Industry bodies, NGOs, and CSR implementation partners
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, HR, operations) for integrated Programme delivery.

4. Compliance, Governance & Reporting

  • Ensure full adherence to Companies Act CSR regulations and internal governance frameworks.
  • Manage CSR budgets, approvals, and utilization tracking.
  • Lead annual CSR reporting, board updates, and disclosures.
  • Maintain documentation, impact assessment reports, and audits.

5. Employee Engagement & Volunteerism

  • Design employee engagement programmes linked to CSR initiatives.
  • Drive participation in:
    • Volunteer activities
    • Sustainability campaigns
  • Build a strong culture of purpose-led engagement across Carrier India

6. Brand, Communication & Advocacy

  • Work closely with marketing/communications to:
    • Build Carrier India’s CSR narrative.
    • Showcase impact stories (internal & external platforms)
  • Support leadership positioning in sustainability and social impact forums.
  • Strengthening brand equity through purpose-driven storytelling

Key Success Metrics (KPIs)

  • Scale and impact of CSR programmes (beneficiaries, reach, outcomes)
  • Measurable environmental and social impact delivered.
  • Compliance and audit adherence (100%)
  • Strength and number of strategic partnerships
  • Employee participation in CSR initiatives
  • External recognition / visibility (awards, media, industry platforms)

Ideal Candidate Profile Experience:

  • 4–7 years of experience in CSR / sustainability / ESG roles
  • Prior experience in driving community programmes, skill development, or environmental initiatives
  • Experience working with NGOs, government or development sector preferred.

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Strong understanding of CSR regulations and ESG frameworks
  • Programme management and impact measurement expertise.
  • Stakeholder management and partnership building
  • Strategic thinking with execution rigor
  • Strong communication and storytelling capabilities

Pay Range (For Japan & Singapore Work Pass)
