About the Role:
As a key member of the CTD structures group, this person will provide necessary structural analysis expertise to design and qualify a broad range of transport refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and components. Individual will solve engineering structural design problems by effectively using and integrating experimental and analytical methodologies. Position works closely with other structural group members and cross functional project teams to conceive, design and produce safe, reliable and cost effective products for the challenging transport environment. This position needs to maintain close communication with the primary design center in Syracuse New York.
Role and responsibilities:
- FEA modeling and analysis
- Perform linear, non linear, linear dynamic analysis like modal harmonic and random vibration analysis for mechanical and HVAC systems
- Multiple project responsibilities
- Perform technical design reviews and recommend improvements.
- Create and improve standard work practices and procedures.
- Develop relationships and communicate with fellow CAE engineers within the global organization with the purpose of knowledge and workload sharing
- Willingness to learn and advance skillset.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS degree in relevant Engineering discipline with 6-8 years experience or
- MS degree in relevant Engineering discipline with at least 5- 7 years experience.
- Hands on experience in finite element analysis and classical strength of materials.
- This position requires a clear competency in stress and fatigue analysis, modal analysis, machine design, kinematics, and mechanics of materials. Good interpersonal and communication skills including technical report writing, preparation and presentation of work results are required.
- Experience with refrigeration/air conditioning systems, diesel engines and generators would also be valuable.
- High communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly driven, self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
- Willing to travel (if and when needed) to interact with Offshore team and develop domain knowledge as needed
Computer Skills
- ANSYS, Hypermesh
- CAD Knowledge (Pro-E, SpaceClaim)
