This position reports directly to the Director of Product Management & Strategy, Kidde Fire Systems, and collaborates with the full spectrum of Kidde Fire Systems leaders, including IT, customer service, operations, finance, engineering, and supply chain. Although primarily responsible for Kidde Fire Systems, Ashland, MA, Kidde Fire Protection, UK, and India Fire Suppression businesses, the analyst will also support the Fenwal Controls and Marioff North America businesses housed in the same Ashland facility on an as-needed / part-time basis.

About this role:

The Market & Pricing Analyst (analyst) will be the interface between the commercial needs of the business, the ERP system, and the Customer Extranet platform. The analyst manages the product pricing process and customer-facing price lists and makes recommendations based on margin and volume analyses. The analyst owns the customer sales data and is responsible for generating dashboards and detailed reports. Key parts of the role include driving efficiencies, CRM implementation interface, and external market data integration. A continuous improvement mindset and strategic vision for evolving processes and tools will be required. The analyst will support transformation efforts for the long-term continued development and growth of the Kidde Fire Systems business.

Seeking an experienced Market Analysis professional, to oversee the implementation of marketing strategies, lead market research studies, and provide overall direction for the forecast of marketing and sales trends. Responsible for providing recommendations for improvements to marketing strategies and processes to enhance the performance of the overall Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accuracy and timely updates of customer data, customer product access, customer discounts, product pricing, and alignment with the JD Edwards ERP system and the MyEddie extranet platform.
  • Manages company product pricing at part number level for customers by analyzing costs and using input from product line managers.
  • Performs periodic margin analysis on sales orders and implements tools and changes to prevent leakage.
  • Performs customer-level margin and sales analysis against targets and recommends annual discounts and product access.
  • Manages the SKU reduction process at the front end and provides recommendations to Product Line Managers.
  • Extracts customer and sales data for periodic and episodic distribution to key stakeholders
  • Creates and circulates standard work documents to ensure consistent outputs for processes – both frequently and infrequently used.
  • Analyzes current pricing, discounting, and approval processes and recommends and implement standardization, automation, and new tools wherever possible and required.
  • Creates dashboards and reports for daily, monthly, and quarterly periodic bookings and sales by product, product type, customer, customer type, country, region, segment, etc. Generate trend charts/visualization, draw conclusions, and make projections for management review.
  • Organizes information to assist in analyzing future products and makes recommendations for the development of new products or services.
  • Identifies and represents the needs of the Commercial team with the requirements and implementation teams deploying new CRM, eCommerce, and eBilling tools
  • Identifies leading and lagging indicator indices and integrates those and regional GDPs into sales forecasting to guide demand forecasting models.
  • Integrates external market analyst data on segment size into sales history and provides a periodic share of segment estimates.
  • Monitors and measures the effectiveness of marketing, advertising, and communications programs and strategies to ensure that established objectives are met.
  • Inculcates the use of Carrier Excellence (CE) tools including VSM, Kaizen, Process Maps, and RAILs, to drive positive change.
  • Assists with maintaining a safe working environment for all.
  • Meets and exceeds the organization’s KPIs and aligns with organizational strategies.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7 + years of experience with market analyses, pricing and margin analyses, or automation of ERP pricing implementation

Preferred Experience:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with market analyses, pricing and margin analyses, and automation of ERP pricing implementation preferably with manufacturers of industrial systems
  • Proficient working knowledge of customer services, products, global markets and segments, distribution models, demand planning, and replenishment
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector with direct/indirect sales channel
  • Data Sciences / Data Analytics
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, others), Query tools, CRM tools (SalesForce DC, others), eCommerce/electronic order entry platforms, analysis/visualization tools (PowerBI, others)
  • Ability to present reports, conclusions, and recommendations in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner, both orally and visually
