About this role
Automated Logic has an opportunity for a SeniorProject Manager (This role focuses on serving clients within the Northern Virginia area.) This role will support mission critical data center projects as well as a spectrum of other vertical markets (K-12, healthcare). We are looking for an experienced Field Service professional. This position is for a professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise in Project Management, who develops project plans and budgets. Identifies project problems, recommends solutions, documents project delays, performs critical path analyses, and presents progress reports. Improve direct communications with customers and field team members. Analyze and interpret test information to resolve moderate design/system related problems. Develop specialized product knowledge and may perform diagnostic procedures. May contact and meet customers on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
Manage projects following project processes and where applicable provide direction to assisting Project Engineers and Field Engineers.
Complete projects per the contractual requirements within budget, on-time and with a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsible for the overall financial performance of assigned projects including project planning, billing, revenue forecasting, A/R collections and re-estimating costs of installation projects.
Forecast project revenues and re-estimates project costs on a monthly basis to monitor costs and to maximize project profitability.
Manage the delivery of the contracted scope and secure change orders for the expansion of scope.
Support the development of project plans, schedules and budgets for projects under his/her responsibility to ensure adherence to the established program plan, schedule, and budget.
Track progress and identify/resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules.
Lead the creation of SOP/MOP documentation for mission critical facility projects.
Coordinate project materials and the use of shared resources; identify resource constraints, and assist with corrective action plans to remedy any issues.
Manage relationships with sub-contractors, identifying issues, and take corrective action plans to remedy any issues.
Performs on-site services for new and existing clients, which may include equipment servicing and equipment upgrades.
Maintain and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to track progress and ensure that established targets are met.
Troubleshoot technical problems and issues and recommends actions to company or customer representatives. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications.
Act as the expert in product knowledge/subject matter expert and performs diagnostic procedures.
Interpret test information to resolve design/system-related problems and ensure continuous improvement.
Communicate technical information to technical/non-technical stakeholders that may include senior management and meets customers daily or as required to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Facilitate project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
Keep customers informed on the nature of service provided or outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, or repairs.
Identify and address project problems and recommend resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of experience in Construction, HVAC or Building Automation
1+ years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
2+ years of experience on mission critical projects
Clean and valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Other qualifications you may have that would be beneficial in this role include:
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or building HVAC with a focus on building automation controls (3- or 4-year program)
Experience leading / managing teams on high-value, mission critical projects
Prior knowledge of Data Center construction
Field experience and an understanding of the installation and operation of Automated Logic Controls
Ability to lead and motivate teams
Strong problem solving, planning and project management skills
Ability to read and understand scope of work
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of project financial reporting
Experience in dealing with a number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines
A true team player who has the customer’s best interests first and foremost
