Summary

The Senior Manager,  Projectsis responsible for managing and supporting the project management activities in our Land Business Units. Marioff Global Land Business consists of 9 subsidiary business units in Europe and US supported by global central functions and wide distribution network in Asia, Middle East and Americas. Land subsidiary business units provide turnkey solutions including sales, design, project execution and aftermarket services for various land applications and customers.

As the Manager in matrix of specific (new building or upgrade) project managers, he/she is responsible for the contractual compliance, timely execution, profitability and reporting of all new-build or upgrade projects according to the defined order-to-delivery process.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• At least 5 years of project work leading experience, in an international B2B business environment from the building industry
• Technical and commercial business understanding and experience
• Fluent English, both spoken and written
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant field
• Good communication and efficient negotiation skills, customer oriented attitude
• Willingness to travel
• Proficiency in MS Office tools

Although not necessary, it would be an advantage:

• Finnish and/or other (German, French) language skills
• Good technical skills of HI-FOG systems is an asset

Responsibilities:

Lead the new building / upgrades project team in a matrix role of supervisor and assign annual targets & development plans for personnel. Manage and monitor personnel development and wellbeing

• Support the POC projects activities in Land Business Units globally by setting guidelines, assigning targets and giving directions to project managers to ensure timely and profitable execution of projects
• Follow the progress of all ongoing projects (new build or upgrades), maintain project forecasts and report regularly the progress of sales 
• Support PM’s and sales to select most suitable project team
• Help project managers to select most suitable subcontractor in turn-key projects
• Support project managers in technical and classification challenges
• Identify and report possible risks in project portfolio to superior (technical or economical)
• Support PM’s to mitigate project execution risks
• Ensure timely and proper customer communication to customers and regulatory bodies. Support project managers in building trust and good relationships with customers and subcontractors
• Identify training needs and arrange training for project managers
• Ensure that all quality turn-backs and escapes are communicated back to rest of Marioff organization (engineering, solution creation, operations and quality) and that corrective actions are undertaken
• Participate in project closing sessions, evaluate the results of projects, identify recurring problems and prepare recommendations and feedback about significant changes that need to be made to internal processes, procedures, systems or products (ensure usage of the quality feedback tools and processes)
• Ensure standard work practices and high quality in project work by guiding the project managers
