Role Responsibilities:
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs, policies, and procedures
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments throughout the facility.
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage events to determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Facilitate Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk mitigation activities.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Coordinate and conduct employee safety training programs, including new hire orientation.
- Assist with contractor safety management and compliance.
- Support emergency response planning, drills, and incident preparedness activities.
- Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure of identified safety concerns
- Maintain compliance with environmental regulations related to air emissions, waste management, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous materials.
- Conduct environmental inspections and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Assist with sustainability initiatives and environmental performance improvement projects.
- Investigate environmental incidents and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain required documentation, permits, reports, and training records.
- Support internal and external EHS audits and inspections.
- Monitor regulatory changes and recommend necessary program updates
- Maintain EHS databases and reporting systems.
- Analyze incident trends and develop performance metrics.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual EHS reports for management.
- Track leading and lagging safety indicators and recommend improvement strategies.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Support safety committees and employee engagement activities.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and employee involvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve workplace safety, ergonomics, and environmental performance.
Role Purpose:
- Drive safety and regulatory compliance by implementing and maintaining EHS programs that ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company standards.
- Prevent workplace injuries and environmental incidents through hazard identification, risk assessments, inspections, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Develop a proactive safety culture by training employees, supporting safety committees, coaching teams, and promoting continuous employee engagement.
- Monitor and improve EHS performance through data analysis, reporting, audits, environmental compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of industrial Environmental Health and Safety Specialist experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 - $158,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.Other Compensation
This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.Benefits
