Job Title – Lead Engineer - Embedded Testing

Summary

This position is for a seasoned professional in Test and Validation, who works independently, measures, analyzes, and calibrates equipment on medium to large platforms/projects/systems. Trains lower-level team members. Prepares equipment for complex testing on medium to large platforms and oversees the preparation of equipment for testing on smaller to medium platforms/projects/systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The candidate will be part of ALC firmware (Embedded) team & working with local, global development teams part of agile teams.
• The responsibility of this role is performing Systems requirements analysis, Designing and implementing tests for our next generation products.
• Testing embedded HVAC controllers based on Linux / Non-OS Hardware, Firmware, & Mobile applications.
• Individual must have the ability to analyze the system requirements and develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality .
• The selected candidate must have a background in testing Firmware, industrial protocols like Modbus, BACnet, Wireless protocols BLE, Wifi, I2C based devices/system interaction and troubleshooting.
• Will be involved in all aspects of the QA process (Analysis, Estimate, Plan, Execute and Release).
• The selected candidate will interact frequently with project management both locally and global team.
• Will need to work with different teams at global locations (need basis) across different time-zones.

Job Competencies:

• Advanced Software Testing Skills with good domain knowledge in industrial products.
• Test strategy, test estimation and planning
•  Learn and apply project high-level and detailed business requirements
•  Experience of testing embedded systems firmware is a must
•  Experience in industrial protocols like modbus, BACnet, BLE, WiFi based product testing preferable.
• Basic knowledge of C, Python or any programming language
• Basic knowledge of IP networking concepts
• Basic knowledge in developing automation scripts for embedded applications on Linux.
• Create and maintain a reusable and configurable set of automated tests
• Experience in using CLI interface, shell scripts
•  Have a working knowledge of hardware interface, debugging on hardware & use of test equipment’s like multimeter, oscilloscope, function generators
• Review and maintain all project documentation and document test results
• Maintain understanding of current and new testing technologies
• Communicate effectively with constituents at all levels
• Experience in Agile development methodologies preferable.
• Experience with automation tools such Jenkins, Maven, any python based framework is desirable
• Working knowledge of Git and TFS, Working knowledge of defect management tools
• Need to demonstrate – Quality, Initiative, Quantity, Dependability and Teamwork
• Experience in HVAC domain or Industrial automation domain is plus

• Strong English communication skills - oral and written.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

Degree in Computer/Electronics/Communication/Electrical Engineering

(Desired) Masters degree in Computer / Communications Engineering
