About the role:
The Specialist in Global Supplychain CoE will play a pivotal role in should costing and tear down analysis within the Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence (COE). This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain operations and excellent stakeholder management skills. The Specialist will be responsible for executing the should cost plan for Fabrications categories including Steel Fab, Copper Fab, Aluminium Fab and Assembly processes. Additionally, he will coordinate with Global Engineering and Global Sourcing teams executing cost reductions and supplier negotiation projects and, manage project timelines, and facilitate key meetings to drive successful project execution.
Responsibilities:
Core Sourcing knowledge: Knowledge and exposure to engineering drawings, cost reduction, sourcing, best practice RFQ’s, should cost, negotiation process thereby guiding team to drive best outcomes for Carrier Strong exposure in cost estimation and negotiations Should have worked directly in analyzing Total Cost of Ownership of products Should have actively engaged with Engineering function for developing new products and executing VA/VE projects Hands on experience in working on spend data to drive actionable insights for spend category
Technical Competencies in Open book costing
- Adept in zero based costing in Sheetmetal, Motors, Copper Fabrication, Welding and Brazing assemblies with though knowledge of cost levers.
- Analyze existing costing sheets identify opportunities for cost improvement.
- Recommend the suggestions and participate in supplier negotiations to enhance material productivity.
- Expertise in reading the drawings.
- Should Costing knowledge for global regional parameters will be added advantage.
- Prepare and cost comparison charts along with gap reasoning with existing cost.
- VAVE expertise and Raw material knowledge for substitution
Stakeholder and People Management
- Ability to work effectively within teams and collaborate with other Carrier entities/ stakeholders for completion of projects
- Self-directing and self-motivating
- Foster effective communication and collaboration across teams to ensure alignment on goals and objectives.
- Facilitate key meetings and steering sessions to ensure alignment on project goals and objectives are met.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing / part costings.(5-10yrs)
- Strong understanding of part cost structure and tooling.
- Hands on experience on Aprori or similar, Creo or similar, windchill is mandatory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for analytics and presentations is mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities for stakeholder management.
- High learning agility, accountability, and effective collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a global environment with stakeholders located in different regions.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify issues accurately and articulate observations effectively.
- Excellent Eye for detail: The person needs to have the observatory skills to identify the problem in the most accurate manner and articulate the observations.
