About the role:
The role of the Controls Application Engineer is to prepare Project Engineering Documentation required of Projects and Contracts.
Summary
Entry-level Design Engineering professional who supports a variety of basic activities in the discipline. Formulates designs, investigates design factors, develops preliminary layouts, conducts analysis, and makes layouts of assemblies.
Job Description
Conducts detailed design work, assembly layout, systems engineering, configuration control, creation of drawings and models, writing of manuals, technical support and other related responsibilities.
Formulates designs for component parts and assemblies for application for products.
Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products to be used in engineering designs.
Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replace ability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost to assess feasibility for production and ensure designed products achieve quality standards and business objectives of the organization.
Develops basic data, makes preliminary layouts, prepares sketches and completes detail and layout drawings, under direct supervision, to be checked for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Conducts analysis to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components.
Minimum Requirements
Requires theoretical knowledge obtained through a university degree.
Limited to some knowledge of Carrier organization
University Degree or equivalent
Less than 3 years prior relevant experience
• Reviewing project documentation such as specifications, mechanical and electrical drawings to create control drawings as per customer design standards.
• Preparation of Material & Technical submittal, Including Data Point Schedule, Schematics, Sequence of Operation, Project Schedules for Different Control Solutions as per the project design pertaining to Consultant/Client requirement
• Reviewing project documentation such as equipment shop-drawings, mechanical plans and specifications to identify any equipment compatibility issues and design discrepancies.
• Writing sequence of operations based on HVAC/BAS principles based on design requirement following standards
• Completing each assigned task focusing on inside & outside customer satisfaction and specification compliance
• Developing commissioning checklists for the field team to follow and record observations during start-up and commissioning of Controls systems.
• Issuing Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals for supplied systems, equipment and devices.
• Coordinating design requirements with the Application /Sales/Operation team
• Read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets.
• Create VISIO/AUTOCAD drawings for Controls/BMS Documentation
• Attend Internal/external meetings with the Sales/Project team to collect information from the contractor/customer.
