About this role
Carrier Commercial Service has an opening for an Associate Director, Data Center Start-up & Commissioning. This is an exciting opportunity to lead an organization comprised of professional project managers & team leaders responsible for a portfolio of start-up & commissioning projects across Data Center construction sites.
In this role, you will be responsible for start-up readiness and execution at strategic customer locations in the Americas. You will also be responsible for resource allocation, governance, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. This is a high impact, strategically important role dedicated to ensuring flawless execution of newly delivered product, above and beyond performance to customer SLA’s and stage-setting for long-term maintenance agreements.
The ideal candidate will have both strategic and tactical capabilities, including demonstrated project management skills, field service staff hiring and leadership experience and a proven ability to deliver results in a highly matrixed organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of professional project managers dedicated to the start-up, commissioning and field modification of Carrier products for the Data Center vertical.
- Develop a readiness assessment for the start-up & commissioning team, ensuring deployment of project managers and technician resources for start-up & commissioning projects.
- Work closely with data center customers, contractors, sub-contractors and commissioning agents ensuring that all requirements are met.
- Lead the creation of a full lifecycle project plan for each customer site.
- Execute to the project plan, ensuring on time delivery, within scope, and within budget.
- Systemically track and measure planned and actual start-up & commissioning activities.
- Ensure flawless on-time execution of start-up and commissioning at customer locations.
- Meet customer performance expectations, resolving issues and escalating to senior leadership when appropriate
- Function as single point of contact for start-up & commissioning.
- Ensure effective turn-over to field service National Team and customer program office.
- Continuously improve both business and operational processes, driving value chain productivity.
- Meet or exceed customer expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 8+ years’ experience in direct or indirect leadership roles in operations, sales, aftermarket, strategy, or general management
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time within the USA and internationally ( Canada ) as required by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, management, industrial engineering or related field
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and/or learning agility.
- Demonstrated experience leading and executing complex projects.
- Experience supervising field service technicians.
- Deep experience in field service.
- Strong ability to lead and develop diverse, cross-functional project teams to achieve high levels of performance in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Proven ability to lead large programs, executing with speed and exhibiting a bias for action.
- Proven ability to manage teams without formal authority through influence and relationships.
- Demonstrated skill in using project management tools.
- Knowledge of service operations from start-up to end of life replacement.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format across a wide audience.
- Ability to quickly identify new and innovative ways to work faster and simpler.
- Ability to think outside the box, innovate, take risks, and implement progressive, sustainable solutions.
- Demonstrated results in continually improving processes and driving field productivity.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.Benefits
