Carrier Fire & Security Products, the world's largest manufacturer of fire safety products, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer (Electrical), for its Fireye business in Derry, NH! Fireye provides combustion and detection fire safety solutions that protect people and property.
The Quality Assurance Engineer (Electrical) will ensure that the quality of Fireye suppliers, products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving. The Quality Assurance Engineer (Electrical) is responsible for the analysis, diagnosis, repair, Root Cause Analysis, mistake proofing, and the steps involved in testing and troubleshooting, repairing, and modification of electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, and finished products.
The Quality Assurance Engineer (Electrical) position reports directly to the Manager of Quality Assurance and will interact directly with Operations, Quality, Electrical Design Engineering, Test & Manufacturing Engineers, Supply Chain and Finance in order to achieve the desired outcome, continually improve our products and processes while aligning and driving the company culture.
Specific responsibilities for this position include:
- Provide technical support to Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering on a variety of tasks
- Maintain proper documentation of results and tracking of Units Under Test
- Manage inventory of electronic assemblies and target repairs for prompt customer order completion
- Conduct Preventive Maintenance, soldering, wiring, and setup of test equipment and fixtures as required to improve testing and / or correct false failures
- Communicate and drive improvements with Test Engineering
Required Experience:
- BSEE w/0-1 year experience or upcoming college degree
- Self-motivated individual that continually seeks growth
- Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team
- Ability to build effective working relationships, influence and problem-solve complex issues
- Hands-on experience with component level troubleshooting of analog circuits
- Proficient in use and operation of electronic tools/equipment such as oscilloscopes, power
meters, frequency counters, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel software
- Demonstrated ability interpreting engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and procedures
- Demonstrated ability in task ownership and execution with minimal supervision
