About the role
As a Senior Firmware Engineer at Autronica, you will play a crucial role in developing and leading firmware projects for our cutting-edge Fire & Alarm products, contributing to our mission of ensuring safety and saving lives.
Responsibilities
Lead firmware development projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design architecture, and ensure timely delivery.
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality firmware for fire and gas safety products, adhering to coding standards and best practices.
Conduct thorough testing and verification of firmware functionality, reliability, and performance.
Troubleshoot complex firmware issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
Optimize firmware code for resource utilization, power efficiency, and real-time responsiveness.
Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineers to integrate firmware with electronic components and systems.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements in firmware development methodologies.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior firmware engineers, fostering their growth and development.
Ensure firmware compliance with applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal, as English is the official company language.
Extensive experience in firmware development and embedded systems, preferably in safety-critical domains.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++ for microcontrollers and embedded platforms.
Strong knowledge of ARM-based microcontrollers and their development environments.
Expertise in real-time operating systems (RTOS) and firmware development tools.
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet) and hardware-software integration.
Proven track record of successfully leading firmware projects from conception to deployment.
Experience with debugging tools and equipment for firmware troubleshooting and analysis.
Familiarity with safety-critical firmware development practices, standards, and certifications.
Knowledge of fire and gas safety systems or related domains is highly desirable.
