About this role

Carrier Carlyle seeks a business professional reporting to the Carlyle General Manager and work in close liaison with Carlyle’s global customers, suppliers, and manufacturing sites. The role will analyze, prioritize, and select improvement opportunities, executing on actions towards overall product performance improvement, manufacturing excellence, and supplier development that will contribute to Carlyle’s internal metrics aimed to continuously meet and exceed our customer’s expectations.

Preferred locations: Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA, or possibly remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate closely with the supply organization, engineering, quality, and product management to ensure alignment on strategic direction of direct material supply.
  • Own the business relationship with strategic global compression partners, supporting Carlyle’s business growth initiatives via complimenting technologies and customer offerings.
  • Responsible for attaining product internal and external quality performance metrics.
  • Establish a customer bi-lateral continuous improvement culture and timely manage product quality inquires.
  • Lead and drive quality improvement investigations and corrective actions with Carlyle Suppliers and Carrier manufacturing sites.
  • Support business units Schedule A/B projects and establish strategy and path to a more robust supply chain.
  • Direct oversight of the compressor teardown analysis and reporting.
  • Establish the necessary standard work to develop continuous improvement culture including but not limited to teardown reporting, data consolidation, project triage, etc.
  • Collaboration with all Carlyle manufacturing plant quality assurance boards and PASS councils.
  • Travel to supplier manufacturing locations to assess “ground conditions”, foster healthy working relationships, and deliver key messages to supplier leadership.
  • Align the roadmap and ensure we have the correct portfolio of suppliers with capabilities to meet all business objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering, Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence or Operations within a manufacturing facility. 
  • 5+ years of experience with a proven history of influencing others in a cross-functional matrix environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer facing roles at all levels of the customer organizations.
  • Solid positive attitude and effective communicating skills with a proven ability to forge solid business inclusive and diverse relationships.
  • Experienced with Quality core processes, Production Part Approval Process elements, Advanced Product Quality Planning, data management systems and continuous improvement tools.
  • Robust skills on data manipulation, interpretation and analysis.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
  • Must be able to work well within diverse international environments.
  • Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Technical knowledge / understanding of compression technology, refrigeration systems, and the HVACR industry.
