ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Warehouse Transformation Leader, the Warehousing & Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the tactical deployment and execution of Carrier Mexico warehousing and logistics initiatives and ownership of operational cost productivity drivers. This leader will work across the business’ operational functions to execute transformational initiatives including Vendor Managed Inventory process design, material flow, equipment and automation improvements, metrics design and implementation and labor utilization initiatives across designated geographic areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Warehouse Transformation Leader for 3PL selections, awards and commercial agreements development for Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) operations in Mexico.
- Act as business liaison between Carrier global operations leadership, Mexico factory leadership and the Mexico warehousing and 3rd party warehousing and transportation providers.
- Use forecasted inventory volumes, dimensions and batch quantities to establish physical warehouse space, characteristics and features required to support VMI activities with 80% footprint utilization.
- Support the development and implementation of best-in-class VMI operating metrics related to inventory performance (such as first pass fill rates and stock outs), material supplier performance, 3PL service performance (such as order cycle times), and factory attainment related to the same.
- Review operational KPIs and factory schedule attainment related to material availability; identifying root cause drivers of underperforming processes or functions and lead corrective actions to close gaps.
- Collaborate with the factory operations leadership to support process improvement using Carrier Excellence (quality management) and Lean Principles (waste management) methodology.
- Support warehouse cost productivity traction and controls.
- Participate in transportation service performance reviews and take action to resolve performance gaps attributed to Mexico warehousing and logistics operations.
- Develop strategies to improve transportation shuttle flow efficiencies and operational effectiveness
- Provide information, offers solutions, and coordinates initiatives for transportation shuttle and logistics cost reduction opportunities
- Support additional continuous improvement initiatives as defined such as:
- Storage logic and footprint optimization
- Metrics design and implementation
- Material flow
- Product handling improvements
- Process and material flow automation
- Information and data flow
- WMS utilization logic improvements
- YMS utilization logic improvements
REQUIREMENTS
Language skills:
- Written and verbal fluency in both English and Spanish languages.
Education & Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in a logistics operations environment.
- Project Management experience in distribution/transportation field.
- Working knowledge of WMS, TMS, SAP and warehouse related technology.
- Experience with quality management systems (Six Sigma, Lean, TPS, etc.)
- Experience with 3rd party logistics.
