About this role:

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage, develop and implement brand and marketing programs to support growth across a diverse portfolio of brands. This includes brand positioning for the enterprise, functions and assigned go to market brands.

The Director of Strategic Marketing plays an important role within the Global Corporate Marketing team, responsible for helping shape and advance the company’s brand identity, positioning strategy and brand portfolio strategy and architecture.

This position requires a strong and seasoned marketing professional with experience in leading and managing brand governance, product naming strategies, and cross-company brand alignment, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance brand equity and market impact. Candidates must be able to excel across the marketing spectrum from strategic projects to detailed tactical activities, and capable of working effectively in a matrix organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports and manages the development of corporate branding initiatives including enterprise, segment, brand positioning and alignment in the portfolio. ​
  • Refines and implements the company’s brand positioning strategy to maintain a strong, consistent and recognizable global presence.
  • Oversees, evolves and implements the company’s brand portfolio strategy and architecture in collaboration with Business Unit cross-functional partners, ensuring clarity and strategic alignment.
  • Refines and manage a product, service and initiative naming strategy to create a unified, scalable and customer-relevant brand ecosystem.
  • Creates and maximizes marketing strategies and brand platforms to grow brands and brand awareness for the enterprise and go-to-market brands. Helps build and maintain the reputation and identity of a company’s brand. ​
  • Plans and delivers integrated marketing campaigns using customer insights to develop appropriate elements of the marketing mix in support of business objectives by developing campaigns with effective messaging and imagery.​
  • Refines and manage brand performance metrics and measurement frameworks and assessments.
  • Collaborates across Carrier global businesses and functions to ensure all company branding efforts adhere to branding strategy, policies and guidelines. ​Refines and enforces a brand governance framework.
  • Stay at the forefront of brand innovation and digital branding trends.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to optimize brand positioning and customer perception.
  • Manages allocated budgets.
  • Manages brand team.​

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 15 + years of experience in strategic marketing, brand strategy or corporate marketing.
  • 5 + years in leadership role. 
  • Ability to travel 15%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field.
  • MBA or master’s degree with an emphasis in marketing.
  • Expertise in brand portfolio strategy and architecture, brand governance and brand positioning strategy.
  • Proven experience in product naming strategy and branding consistency across multi-brand portfolio.
  • Experience in driving brand transformation initiatives within medium-large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate brand vision and strategy to senior executives and cross-functional teams. Excellent at presenting findings to a diverse audience.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with experience in brand performance measurement and optimization.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality in all tasks and deliverables.
  • Experience in people management, including leading and coaching a team.
  • Cross-functional team leadership experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Strong influencing skills; able to communicate succinctly and creatively to various organizational levels and functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across countries, divisions, and cross-functional teams to influence business outcomes.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous environments, with demonstrated capability in dealing with complexity.
  • Energetic, resourceful, and hands-on individual.
