About This Role:
This role leads a global category team responsible for strategy development and execution of $350M Heat Exchanger spend across all business units and regions. Drive success by fostering strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers, creating opportunities for growth and innovation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategies driving cost optimization and efficiency in alignment with long-term product and technology roadmaps. Preferred locations are Palm Beach Gardens, Atlanta, Charlotte, or Syracuse. Remote will be considered for the right candidate.
Job Description:
● Manages global category spend for Heat Exchangers of approximately $350M
● Responsible for building short and long-term strategies based on subject matter expertise and an understanding of industry/market dynamics which optimizes affordability, availability, agility, and innovation
● Leads negotiation on long-term contracts that secure best-in-class cost, quality, and delivery
● Establishes a cross-functional network and fosters collaboration with suppliers, wider supply chain organization, engineering, quality, and product management
● Manages external relationships with suppliers and assumes responsibility for all internal activities and decisions associated with the category and suppliers, including contract negotiations, new products development, approved vendor list, RFQ, re-sourcing, dual qualification, pricing changes, quality, and capacity
● Owns the overall category and supplier performance data and reports metrics to leadership
● Collaborate within the Global Strategic Sourcing team and across Product Management and Engineering to align on long-term strategy, technology roadmap, and risk mitigation
● Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations
● Build and develop a team of technical category experts to drive global performance
● Directs RFQ strategy and supplier selection based on quality, technology, price, service, support, availability, reliability, resiliency, production capabilities, and details of suppliers' reputation and history
● Point of escalation for issues that may impact the supply chain organization and effectively resolves those issues through creative problem solving and negotiation
● Develop deep supplier relationships with strategic suppliers to include performance management, provide end to end value, and bring innovation to the business
Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain operations OR Master’s Degree with 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain operations
Preferred Qualifications:
● MBA or advanced level degree
● Degree in engineering
● Experience and understanding of manufacturing operations
● Experience managing heat exchangers, metals, or a highly technical category
● Experience leading a cross-functional global team to achieve results through leadership & influence
● Proven track record of successful leadership, negotiation, and strategic communication
● Proven ability to exercise independent business judgment to drive strategy and results
● Ability to excel in a dynamic environment
● Ability to lead analysis and resolution of complex problems where success requires the evaluation of both tangible and intangible variables
● Digital dexterity and ability to leverage data
● Strong knowledge of supply chain strategy (development and execution)
● Strong business acumen and experience collaborating across various levels within a diverse, global organization
● Strong project management capabilities to effectively support multiple initiative
● Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
