About this role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing our manufacturing processes through the design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our production lines run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.

As a Manufacturing Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and programming control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to automate various aspects of our production processes. You will also provide support for Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ensuring seamless integration and real-time data exchange between production and MES platforms.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop control systems for manufacturing processes, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and SCADA systems.
  • Implement and maintain automated systems to optimize production and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot issues related to control systems and automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance, to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for control systems and automation equipment.
  • Train and support production and maintenance personnel on the operation and maintenance of control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, including safety and environmental requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in control systems and automation technologies.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and tooling issues; providing technical support to maintenance, RMA, R&D, and production, as requested
  • Recommend, specify, and implement preventive maintenance procedures
  • Plan, coordinate and implement repairs, modifications and improvements to equipment and tooling
  • Utilize maintenance and tooling management system, purchase order system and various other planning systems.
  • Model and promote adherence to environmental, health and safety policies and initiatives
  • Lead hourly associates in project and troubleshooting activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, or aeronautical engineering or technology
  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
