About This Role
The Senior Associate, Benefits will support the delivery of the company’s U.S. benefits programs and play a key role in assisting with the administration and management of employee benefits. This includes supporting the development and communication of benefits offerings, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and monitoring trends to make recommendations for program improvements. The associate will collaborate with the Benefits Manager and other HR professionals to ensure that the benefits programs are cost-effective, compliant, and meet the needs of employees.
This is a hands-on position where the Senior Associate, Benefits will receive mentorship and training while contributing to the ongoing success of the company’s benefits program. A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn and grow in the Total Rewards field are key to succeeding in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Program Administration:
Assist in the administration of the company’s U.S. benefits programs, including health, life, disability, retirement, and wellness benefits.
Support the day-to-day benefits administration, such as enrollment, billing, employee eligibility, and program changes.
Ensure that benefits documentation and materials are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.
Employee Support & Communication:
Assist with benefits inquiries, providing clear and timely information regarding plan options, eligibility, and enrollment.
Help prepare and distribute communication materials, including benefits guides, FAQs, and informational documents to educate employees about their benefits options.
Provide support during benefits open enrollment periods, ensuring a smooth process and timely communication of updates.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with U.S. benefits regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and other applicable requirements.
Help prepare reports and track key benefits data, assisting senior team members in presenting data to leadership.
Wellness Program Support:
Assist in the administration and promotion of the company’s wellness program, including organizing events, tracking participation, and communicating benefits to employees.
Provide support in navigating wellness resources and benefits, helping with access available tools and support.
Vendor & Process Support:
Support the management of external vendor relationships, ensuring that vendors meet contractual obligations and provide efficient service.
Assist in maintaining vendor data and help monitor the performance of benefits plans, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
Program Improvement & Recommendations:
Stay up to date with industry trends and regulatory changes, providing recommendations to improve or update existing benefits offerings.
Assist in gathering feedback from employees and analyzing trends to identify opportunities for program enhancements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
3+ years of experience in U.S. benefits administration, compensation, or human resources.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience with U.S. benefits programs, including health, retirement, and wellness offerings.
Prior exposure to vendor management or wellness program administration.
Familiarity with HRIS systems (experience with Workday is a plus).
Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.
Experience supporting open enrollment processes or similar benefits-related events.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain benefits information in a clear and concise manner.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to gather, interpret, and present data.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with good time-management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data tracking and reporting.
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to address escalations and inquiries in a helpful manner.
