Scope of Position
- As a Controls Engineer, you will be crucial to ALC’s business through the designing of advanced building automation systems created specifically for each individual customer. We are looking for someone who works well in a team and has excellent problem-solving, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
What you’ll do
- Under minimal direction, plan, prioritize and manage multiple engineering projects; prioritizing tasks to ensure that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met.
- Manage several components of a large scale, complex, or significant engineering project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget.
- Manage major responsibilities across multiple engineering disciplines on a regular basis.
- Perform complex engineering activities that may not be attributed to a defined discipline and provides guidance to less senior employees.
- Design and program building automation systems, site-specific configuration of control systems, and control algorithms.
- Adhere to project requirements and company and customer standards of design, programming, and implementation.
- Create a clear design document for project teams with technical information.
- Document and communicate the building automation system design and revisions.
- Develop graphical and text-based interfaces for building automation systems.
- Test programming and interfaces prior to implantation.
- Provide technical support to sales representatives to ensure customers’ needs are met.
- Identify and communicate project opportunities and risks.
- Support of functional testing for building systems.
- Jobsite visits if necessary to aid in project support
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of overall HVAC controls experience (excluding end-user-only experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, ideally with a concentration in HVAC&R.
- Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
- Expert with TCP/IP networks including wireless technology.
- Experience interacting with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of multiple disciplines.
- Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Excellent communication skills as well as the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is $80,750–$113,250. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
