Role Overview

The Infrastructure Engineering Leader for Digital Hub India will be responsible for planning and executing infrastructure engineering capabilities in close partnership with Digital Infrastructure (DI) Product Owners. This role will drive delivery of key infrastructure capabilities across Cloud and DevOps Platforms, Network, Workplace, ITSM, and Cloud Operations teams. The leader will serve as a subject matter expert in Cloud, DevOps, and infrastructure technologies, while demonstrating strong leadership in global collaboration, service delivery, agile-based planning and execution, and talent development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Define and execute infrastructure engineering strategies aligned with global DI objectives. Partner with DI Product Owners to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions.

  • Align technology platforms with organizational goals through collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.

  • Technical Leadership: Provide deep expertise in Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), DevOps, automation, and infrastructure technologies. Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with DevOps toolchains (e.g., Terraform, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, Helm).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of executive-level reporting and presentations.

  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and FinOps practices.

  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy aligned with business objectives.

  • Drive cloud-native transformation and modernization initiatives.

  • Establish governance frameworks for infrastructure operations and compliance

  • Service Delivery & Operations: Ensure high availability and performance of infrastructure services across Cloud, Network, Workplace, and ITSM platforms. Collaborate with global operations teams to maintain compliance, security, and operational excellence.

  • Agile Delivery: Lead agile planning and execution for infrastructure engineering initiatives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Talent Development: Build and scale a high-performing engineering team in India. Hire, coach, and mentor engineers to develop technical and leadership capabilities.

  • Global Collaboration: Work closely with global DI leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery. Represent DHI in global forums and contribute to enterprise-wide infrastructure strategy.

  • Oversee global infrastructure operations, including data centers, networks, storage, and cloud platforms.

  • Ensure 24/7 availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.

  • Define and enforce SLAs for infrastructure services.

  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and AI-powered observability solutions.

  • Promote automation, standardization, and sustainable infrastructure practice

  • Implement zero-trust security frameworks and regulatory compliance measures.

  • Collaborate with CISO and security teams to mitigate risks.

  • Manage infrastructure budgets and optimize costs (including FinOps for cloud).

  • Negotiate and manage strategic vendor relationships

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience: 18+ years in infrastructure engineering and operations. Proven leadership experience in Cloud, DevOps, and enterprise infrastructure. Strong background in agile methodologies and global delivery models.

  • Skills: Expertise in Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), DevOps tools, networking, ITSM, and workplace technologies. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills. Ability to lead and inspire diverse teams across geographies.

Preferred

  • Experience in retail or supply chain industries.

  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect or equivalent certifications.

  • Experience migrating enterprise workloads to cloud-native platforms.
